Erica Casareno is a sophomore pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Neuroscience with a Minor in Economics on Tulane’s Premed Track. She is passionate about visual arts, with particular interests in illustration, photography, and digital art. She hopes to utilize the visual arts as a means to clarify and garner interest in stories and ideas that will spur other students and community members to make positive change.

Originally from Long Island, New York, Erica chose Tulane for its high level of community engagement. On-campus, Erica is Vice President of Tulane Green Medicine Initiative, a Taylor-affiliated club committed to creating a safer and more sustainable healthcare industry. Off-campus, she is an emergency department volunteer with Ochsner Health Network and remote crisis counselor with Crisis Text Line. From these experiences, she hopes to gain insight into the mental, physical, and economic problems that affect members of the local community and world beyond.
