Developing Changemaking Skills

The Taylor Center advises and supports many student organizations and student-initiated groups that help participants develop their skills as changemakers.

  • Design for America
DFA Tulane is an interdisciplinary group of students working together using human-centered design to create local and social impact. We design products, programs, experiences, and innovative ways to tackle community problems. Launched in Spring 2016, we are looking for students, faculty and community members passionate about making a lasting impact to join the DFA community at Tulane.  DFA Tulane is one of 30 DFA chapters nationwide.
  • Trash to Treasure
T2T aims to create a waste–free move in and move out process by collecting, sorting, selling and donating usable dorm items while increasing environmental awareness on Tulane campus. Through collection areas situated in dorm lobbies, Tulane Trash to Treasure collects dorm items during move out, sorts them through the summer and then sells them in a re-sale at the end of the summer when students are moving in. Profits and items left over are donated to charities.
  • Tulane Green Medicine Initiative
TGMI seeks to promote greener healthcare practices by creating and providing resources for students and healthcare providers, facilitating events, and aiding in the efforts of likeminded organizations through fundraising projects and collaborative education.
