Shallene works as an Academic and Student Success Advisor with master’s level public health students in the School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. She is a graduate of the University of New Orleans (B.S. in Sport Management), Florida Atlantic University (M.Ed. in Higher Education Leadership), and Southeastern Louisiana University (M.S. in Counseling—Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling concentration).
Since 2006, Shallene has been dedicated to growing as a person, professional in academic and career counseling, and a lifelong learner, while promoting the strengths of diverse populations of students in diverse institutions. Shallene utilizes the tools that she has learned and honed while assisting a wide array of students of various classifications, identities, SES statuses, ethnicities, nationalities, and skillsets towards their goals, ranging from undergraduate finance majors dedicated to non sibi, sed suis here at Tulane, to science majors and pre-health hopefuls at the Louisiana flagship institution LSU, to first year students and transfers the regional gem Southeastern, to student-athletes the student-centered public research university FAU.
Shallene is committed to assisting students in working toward the best holistic version of themselves, while a championing balance, self-compassion, and self-care.
