Abby Lukens serves as the Career Advisor for Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. In her role, she works with undergraduate and graduate students, providing career guidance, programming, and connections to public health alumni and employers. Before joining Tulane in 2018, Abby worked in Admissions and Student Affairs at the University of New Orleans. She has also worked as a Student Fellow within St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital’s Epidemiology and Cancer Control unit, studying the St. Jude Lifetime Cohort and long term effects of chemotherapy.

Originally from Louisville, KY, Abby received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry at Rhodes College and her Master of Education degree in Higher Education Administration from the University of New Orleans. She serves as an alumni mentor for Tulane’s Epsilon Chi chapter of Delta Delta Delta sorority as well as a staff volunteer for Tulane’s Office of Student Conduct. In her free time, she enjoys rewatching Gilmore Girls (currently for a fourth time) and volunteering at local organizations that support women’s reproductive health and wellness. She joined the TYL team in Spring 2020.
