As Assistant Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Enhancement, Jada Buckner, Ed.D. works with student-athletes to assist them with personal and professional development including a better understanding of themselves. She is interested in mentoring, leadership development, the student-athlete experience including intersectionality, and guiding students through complex questions about their life and goals.
Previously, Buckner worked as Assistant Director for NCAA Compliance/Academic Certification Officer for Athletics at Tulane. Prior to her tenure at Tulane, she served as a postgraduate intern for academic and membership affairs with the NCAA in Indianapolis. Based on her own experience, Buckner is eager to support other students, especially athletes, in their professional and career development so that they feel prepared to contribute to the working world and use the skills they learned to benefit to the working world once they finish their collegiate and playing career.
Buckner has a Doctor of Education in Global Sport Leadership and a master’s degree in Exercise Physiology and Sport Performance from East Tennessee State University.
