Design Thinking and Donuts- A Team Design Workshop
The Taylor’s short, public team-design workshop introduces participants to human-centered design (HCD) as a collaborative, creative, information-synthesis process that can generate relevant new ideas, keeping the people who are our intended users front and center.
For the team format: participants will share some recent experiences from this storm season, then quickly sort and synthesize these field data into some key insights and a few user groups. We will break up into small teams and rapidly prototype our way through potential solutions.
It’s fast-paced, hands-on, and fun activity to address sometimes painful social and environmental problems. Participants will learn mindsets of design-thinking as bias to action and empathy. Practice methods such as group brainstorming, synthesis, and bodystorming ideas.
We take time at the end to share solutions, reflect on learning objectives, and think about what’s next.
Free and open to the public! We welcome faculty, staff, students, and community members. Come alone or bring a friend; we form the teams from the group of participants
