Welcome Nichole Valenzuela

Welcome our newest Life Design instructor, Nichole Valenzuela. Valenzuela is currently serving as the Assistant Director for Immersions and Interprofessional Education in Academic Affairs. She holds a Master of Science degree in Sustainability from Black Hills State University, where she focused on Organizational and Social Sustainability. Nichole also has a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and Human Services, with a concentration in Community Organization and Advocacy, as well as a Certificate of Social and Cultural Awareness. Her research primarily centers around Creating Organizational Sustainability. Over the past 8 years, Nichole has facilitated and trained numerous students and groups in leadership, organizational and professional development. She has also taught Teen Suicide Prevention and led training sessions for CPR, First Aid, and Mental Health First Aid certification. Additionally, Nichole has spent 4 years mentoring and coaching students in their Senior year, as well as those returning to higher education for a career change. As a First Generation, Latinx, queer woman, Nichole is committed to promoting inclusive communities for all people, regardless of their race, gender, sexual identity, or background. She is also one of the co-chairs for the Latinx Faculty/Staff Affinity group and serves as the Program Coordinator for the Delta Omega National Honors Society, Eta Chapter at Tulane. Nichole believes in fostering a positive organizational climate that invests in its students, employees, and community. She uses her background and experiences to educate, advocate, and support her students, colleagues, and community, with a focus on social innovation, collaboration, and change as essential elements of organizational growth and structure.
