Aaron Schneider, Ph.D.

Social Entrepreneurship Professor (2011-2012).

Aaron Schneider, Ph.D., taught comparative politics, international political economy, and Latin American politics as an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Tulane.

From Brazil to sub-Saharan Africa, Schneider traveled the world studying how democracy works. He investigated state building and taxation as a means of understanding and comparing how people, goods, capital, and ideas develop in the modern state. His research explored the intersections of wealth and power, with a particular focus on the processes that govern how societies tax and spend. Through the lens of public finance and in his engaged scholarship, Schneider sought to understand and advance efforts to deepen democracy and generate equitable livelihoods in an increasingly integrated global economy.

Schneider held a Social Entrepreneurship Professorship from 2011–2012.
