Wesal is an M.D. who graduated from Saudi Arabia, and she is currently a Master of Science in Clinical Research Candidate at the School of Medicine at Tulane University. She is serving as the Graduate Assistant for Design Thinking at the Taylor Center for Social Innovation and Design Thinking at Tulane University. She held the position of General Surgery Teaching Assistant at Taiba University in Saudi Arabia from 2013 to 2016. Wesal also held the position of SaudiMD Chicago Club President at Kaplan Medical Test Prep in Chicago from 2014 to early 2017. She was the Medicine 2007 Class leader at King Abdulaziz University in Saudi Arabia for seven years from 2007 to 2013, helping her university achieve the Canadian Accreditation of the School of Medicine and serving as the Admin Assistant for her class. She was also the head organizer for many medical and social events at King Abdulaziz University in Saudi Arabia and Kaplan Medical Test Prep in Chicago.

She is currently working on her research revolving around Colorectal Cancer incidence rates in the U.S. with a focus on Early-Onset Colorectal Cancer screening. She is hoping to pursue a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences at the School of Medicine at Tulane University next year and to start General Surgery residency by the year 2022. Wesal chose to join the Taylor Center this year to learn more about design thinking and perhaps learn how she can apply it innovatively in the field of Medicine.
