Samantha Fleurinor

As the Senior Program Coordinator for the Taylor Center, Samantha Fleurinor manages oversees $30,000 in student award funding every year, advises three changemaking student organizations, oversees programming in the Changemaker Residential Living Learning Community, assists design thinking for social impact facilitation and workshops, consult multicultural education initiatives for SISE and Taylor’s EDI capacity efforts, and supports general Taylor programming.

In her role, Fleurinor uses design thinking methods and social justice strategies to support learners in identifying and leveraging their skills and power to tackle social problems and support sustainable, equitable solutions in their communities.

Previously, Fleurinor worked in Tulane Housing & Residence Life for four years as a Resident Advisor (RA) and Housing Service Coordinator. While a student at Tulane, Fleurinor was President of the Black Student Union and Chair of the planning committee for the Tulane Black Arts Festival, one of the largest cultural festivals on campus featuring local and national artists. In this role, Fleurinor coordinated marketing and communication, planned all events and programming, spearheaded fundraising, and built campus and community partnerships for this two-week event.

As a student leader, Fleurinor also served on the Commission of Race and Diversity, meeting monthly with Tulane’s President Fitts and a team of students, staff, and faculty to address issues of race and diversity on campus. Fleurinor has served as a mentor for incoming students of color to Tulane as an O Ambassador through the Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA).

Fleurinor has received multiple awards for her outstanding leadership including the Carolyn Barber-Pierre Trailblazer Award, which honors a student for their commitment to making a difference to the Tulane community through academics and service. Other awards include the Newcomb Oak Wreath, which honors graduating woman, quad RA of the year, the Community Enrichment Award through CPS, and Outstanding Student Organization for Fleurinor’s exceptional leadership as President of the Black Student Union.

Fleurinor holds a Bachelor of Science in Management in Finance with a double major in finance and classical studies from Tulane University.
