As the Administrative Operations Coordinator at the Taylor Center, Megan Carlan supports the administrative needs of the Taylor staff. Carlan works closely with Taylor’s Director of Finance and Operations, Lavonzell Nicholson, to support the financial and operational processes of the center.

Carlan holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Arts and Entertainment Management from Pace University. As an undergraduate student, Carlan was heavily involved in Pace University’s Queer Society that served to create a welcoming community on campus where LGBTQ+ students were empowered to create change and celebrate their identities. She also regularly volunteered as a food rescuer for Rescuing Leftover Cuisine where she transported leftover food from offices and restaurants in New York City to local shelters and food banks. Carlan spent a year working on the Social Media team at Fast Company Magazine where she first began to learn about Social Innovation and Social Entrepreneurship. After graduation, Carlan served as a Community Life Associate for The Bowery Missions Women’s Center, a nonprofit, long-term transitional shelter for women in need.

As an aspiring change-maker, Carlan is excited to learn more about human-centered design and social innovation. Her long-term goal is to obtain a master’s degree from Tulane University and develop a clearer vision for her future career in public service.
