About Our Facilitators

Don Fraser, Jr. (he/him/his) — As Education Design Lab’s Chief Program Officer, Don is responsible for measuring and driving innovation and emerging programs at the Lab, as well as building the Lab’s reputation as a leader in equity-based, human-centered field testing and the design of scalable postsecondary and workforce solutions. Don is instrumental in identifying strategic partners to amplify the Lab’s design work and associated products and building employer relationships. In addition, he is responsible for the Lab’s internship program and Employer Brain Trust working group. Read more here.

Miriam Swords Kalk (she/her/hers) is Head of Design Practice at the Education Design Lab, where she contributes her experience with equity-centered design, learning science, behavioral science, and communities of practice to support ongoing iteration of the Lab’s design approach and capacity building across the field to bring this approach to life. Miriam believes deeply in contributing to a future where people who have been historically and systematically underinvested in have opportunities to create the futures they want for themselves, and she feels grateful to have gotten to work with partners across the country in the Single Moms Success Design Challenge, the BRIDGES Rural Design Challenge, and other projects at the Lab to bring this vision to life. About Design Thinking Breakfast

  • Casual events in the Taylor Center’s Design Thinking Breakfast series.
  • The goal is to learn from each other. The format will evolve as we learn, together, what might be most valuable (and enjoyable!) to us all. Breakfasts will include both time to mingle and one or two quick activities to foster knowledge-sharing or community-building.

The DT breakfasts are open to all. No design thinking experience is required.

  • Come with an open heart and mind and prepare to learn and share with others in the local, regional, and international design thinking community.
  • Please invite anyone who would enjoy both sharing with and learning from other practitioners and educators in the greater New Orleans area, the Gulf South, and connecting with other people in the local, regional and international design thinking community.
  • When: One morning a month
  • Cost: Free
  • Accessibility: We offer every other Design Thinking Breakfast as a virtual event with live closed-captioning. In-person events are not recorded.
  • Contact: Graduate Assistant for DT Programs: Noah LeJeune — nlejeune@tulane.edu
