John Alexander
John is one of the four Design Thinking (DT) Fellows for the 2017-2018 academic year. Returning from a summer internship with Foresight Design Initiative in Chicago, John hopes to explore the interdisciplinary nature of design thinking and other design methodologies to further expand the impact that the Taylor Center can have on campus. As a student with many academic interests, John looks forward to incorporating Design Thinking into his personal and professional life as well as helping others understand how DT can help them tackle social challenges in  interdisciplinary fields and create truly meaningful change.
John, a second-year student from Waco, Texas, studies Environmental Studies and Sociology. His first experience with the Taylor Center was the Ignite Explore program and he has been involved ever since. At Taylor, John has been an active member of the Changemaker RLC, a participant in the Changemaker Institute, and is now a studio lead for Design for America and a Design Thinking Fellow.
Outside of Taylor, John is in the Cabinet of the Undergraduate Student Government serving as the Director of Sustainability to expand environmental action on campus. He also leads outdoor trips as an Outdoor Adventure Leader through Reily Recreation Center as a way to help people experience their natural environment. John is also a member of Divest Tulane, Alpha Kappa Psi (Professional Business Fraternity), and a Mentor for TULinked, an organization bridging the gap between first-year students and student organizations.
